It boasts a stunning Ghibli-like world, brought to life to by hand-animated visuals created using the same techniques behind the likes of Howl’s Moving Castle and My Neighbour Totoro. And the stunning, soaring orchestral score, performed by the Copenhagen Philharmonic Orchestra, is just another one of the many ways the game immerses you in its affecting story of the Forgotlings; living mislaid objects who long to be remembered.

It’s a seamless cinematic adventure that carefully blends light puzzle elements with accessible platforming. As Anne, an enforcer in the Forgotten Lands, you’ll initially be tasked with quelling a rebellion. Throughout the course of your journey, you’ll uncover the truth behind the devastating conflict. And due to the game’s branching dialogue system, your interactions with every character can alter the tale being told.

Through harnessing the magic of Anima, the mysterious energy that’s the source of life in the Forgotten Lands, you’ll have the power to take control of the Forgotlings’ lives. Along the way, you’ll also find plenty of hidden abilities that’ll help guide Anne through the game’s expansive world.

If playing an engrossing and affecting anime sounds like your sorta thing, simply head for the App Store and pre-order the delightful Forgotton Anne. There’ll also a free trial if you’d like to give it a shot before you pick up the full thing.
