Handmark/Astraware today released the claymation side-scrolling shooter Platypus along with the block-sliding tile matching puzzle game Exact to the iTunes App Store.

We recently mentioned Platypus as it looked like an interesting side-scroller. The graphics in Platypus have all been created from photographed clay sculptures and animated in this game. This method known as claymation is what's used to create animated movies such as Wallace and Grommet, Chicken Run, Gumby, and the now ancient Mr. Bill.

Take a look at the YouTube movie below for the gameplay. The game itself looks much better as you can see from the screen shots below. Platypus is priced at $4.99.
