DK Quiz is a straight forward yet addictive quiz game. A clear and concise layout might not make DK Quiz the most attractive of games to dive into, but its uncomplicated nature ensures that it's excellent fun to play in short or extended bursts.
Unusually, DK Quiz is clearly aimed towards the British market. Many of the categories are open and easily accessible for all nationalities, but then, occasionally, there's the presence of something such as British Sitcoms or a quiz about soccer rather than football. As a Brit, it makes an immensely refreshing change to stand a chance with many sporting categories but it does potentially rule out certain sections for a wider audience.
Players have the choice of either competing amongst themselves or challenging friends via Facebook. Both modes are speedy to get involved in and should ensure that there's always something to do. Indeed, the wealth of categories is pretty impressive. All kinds of trivia from historical to culture and entertainment are catered for. Each subject is then divided up into levels of difficulty with Hard proving pretty tough.
Not all quizzes are unlocked from the outset with coins used to purchase them. This sounds like an excuse for in-app purchases and it very nearly is. Fortunately, it's possible to earn these coins through completing quizzes so there's not really any need to spend real money. Coins can also be used to buy help such as removing some of the multiple choice answers or freezing time, but really, that takes out some of the challenge and satisfaction.
It's addictive stuff, especially when competing against a friend in the turn based challenge mode. I'd suggest a hint of caution for US based readers given some categories might be a little too challenging but DK Quiz is still well worth a look for trivia fiends.
