Digit & Dash Review

Every once in a while a game emerges that decides to create a game that's really two games played simultaneously. The easiest example to think of for this would be something like Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure, which is a platforming game and a puzzle game where players have to play both simultaneously. The question that Insomniac Studios's Digit & Dash asks is "what if you made a game that is equal parts two of the same kind of game?" Digit & Dash combines an endless runner with another endless runner, which is a bit weird but also pretty fun.

To explain, Digit & Dash asks players to control two endless runners at the same time. On the left side of the screen, one character is running and jumping to avoid obstacles, while a separate character that has their own set of things to avoid is on the other. The result of this is a pretty fun game, but one that's also very challenging.

In order to make Digit & Dash feel more cohesive, there are instances where players must double-tap one character to launch the other into the air to avoid some obstacles, and this can create for some interesting scenarios.

Although combining a runner with another runner doesn't sound like the most creative idea, Digit & Dash is smartly made and challenging enough to make it worth checking out.
