The life of a bee may seem simple to some: fly out from the hive, find flowers, collect pollen, bring pollen back to the hive, leave pollen at the hive and leave again to find more. However, players of the new game Beeing will find that the life of a bee is a complex and chaotic flight through many obstacles and dangers. Thankfully, the game Beeing makes this chaos an entertaining adventure and it's super simple controls make it possible to move deftly through crowded and dynamic environments with ease.
In this game, players take control of one heroic bee on a mission to rescue as many of his trapped comrades as possible. This bee flies from left to right at a constant rate and players have to guide him up and down to get around obstacles, dangerous enemies, and sticky spiderwebs. Along the way, the bee also needs to collect the globs of sweet nectar to keep his energy up. Players help this bee avoid dangers and collect nectar and power-ups via a very simple, intuitive slider on the right side of the screen. Sliding the slider up makes the bee rise and sliding it down makes the bee descend. Using this easy and incredibly responsive control mechanic, players can swoop and dodge through increasingly difficult environments.
Beeing includes both a story mode that takes players through several different environments in levels of limited lengths and a survival mode that has players fly as long and as far as they can before running out of energy. There is a lot to enjoy in this game. The charming animations, the simple touch controls, and the easy to enjoy gameplay. Beeing is a simple game. There aren't any industry shaking new game mechanics or bleeding edge graphics, but it's good fun done well.
