As classic boy band 5ive once said, you've gotta slam dunk the funk.

Now, that might not be possible in Basketball Stars, but accurately shoot the funk to score as many points as possible doesn't have the same ring to it.

But if you're having trouble beating your opponents in Shooting Race, we've got a few tips here to ensure you're always the MVP. And when there's only two players, that's pretty damn important. Don't wait

Every shot you take is going to be in a straight line, and you should be swiping up as soon as your last shot has gone in to make sure you're not wasting time.

Remember it's not the speed of your swipe, but how close you get to the optimal power bar that counts.

The backboard bonuses look tempting, but hitting them on purpose is actually pretty tough so focus on hitting your shots and building up your fire meter rather than chasing extra points.

If you miss, you're giving your opponent a chance to overtake you.

It's tempting to spend your cash on cosmetic upgrades, but look to the future. Some new balls improve your accuracy, but you're going to have to save up to get them. Don't waste your currency on hats and vests.

The big bet rounds might be tempting, but they're much more challenging. For the first few hours you should stick to building up capital in the two lower arenas.
