Return to the glory days of tactical RPGs with Sword of Convallaria

Posted by Shaun Walton on June 14th, 2024

Back on the old Sega Mega Drive, or Genesis depending on where you are, there was a little series of tactical role-playing games called Shining Force, and I adored them. It started a love for this grid-based genre that persisted through the years, and I am sure will continue with Sword of Convallaria launches on mobile next month.

Taking place in the land of Iria, XD Entertainment claims the story will contain a rich storyline that lasts 120 hours. They also state that the narrative will change based on your choices, with player agency being a big part of events. It's an assertion we have heard for a lot of games, and time will tell just how deeply their choices will run.

If you have managed to climb to the ranks of Hunter Rank 11 and up, well done, you are quite the master. Now, it’s time to get an ego check as the Elder Dragon Interceptions will give you a run for your money. Test yourself against behemoths like the Kushala Daora, Khezu, and Basarios.

The indie hit Vault of the Void will land on mobile later this month

Posted by Shaun Walton on June 12th, 2024

In a market where a lot of AAA games are starting to feel like reboots, remakes, or the same thing we’ve seen ten times with a different name slapped on it, indie developers are a boon. Especially ones who build a successful game singlehandedly, and soon mobile players will be able to get their hands on this, as Vault of the Void crosses platforms on June 22nd.

The story behind this development is interesting. It was made by Josh Bruce, a man who by his own admission had zero programming experience. With this, he built Vault of the Void and released it on PC, where it has sold over 130,000 copies, and sits pretty on Steam with a Very Positive rating.

Stumble Guys tries to catch up to the hype with upcoming Fallout collaboration

Posted by Shaun Walton on June 11th, 2024

Do you remember when the Fallout TV series launched on Amazon and everyone nearly lost their minds? Well, it appears that Scopely missed that particular craze, and only now are we going to get a Fallout crossover, and by now, I mean in version 0.73.

Right now, the Looney Tunes crossover is still going on, and I maintain that will forever be peak Stumble Guys, it just fits. For now, you can still join in the new Special Delivery mission, grab the Backfired Elmer emote, or deck yourself out in the full Bugs Bunny outfit. With the correct white gloves, not this New Looney Tunes yellow glove garbage.

Bid farewell to Penacony as Honkai: Star Rail Version 2.3 launches June 19th

Posted by Shaun Walton on June 10th, 2024

Penacony has been a story of twists, exciting new characters, and strong allies, and soon Honkai: Star Rail will be finishing it with a bang. Version 2.3, fittingly titled Farewell Penacony, will be launching June 19th and will feature updates to the Simulated Universe, and the arrival of a much-anticipated recruit.

Following the exciting events of the last story patch, the Charmony Festival, and by extension The Family’s reputation, is utterly ruined. Besides the Oak Family, the other major lineages are preparing to pick up the pieces and navigate the aftermath. As always, the Trailblazer will be invited to witness these talks aboard the Radiant Feldspar.

Diablo Immortal celebrates second anniversary by unleashing the loot goblins

Posted by Shaun Walton on June 5th, 2024

It has been two years since Diablo Immortal launched and despite some very valid criticism of its business model, it has done pretty well for itself. The Tempest class also gives it a lot of grace. To celebrate this anniversary, the March of the Goblins will commence June 6th, and they will be out with riches in hand.

From the 6th to the 20th you can hunt down these pesky little loot goblins laden with their riches and prime for you to do some light mugging. As you perform this extreme treasure hunting you will be completing some weekly tasks. Do enough and you will get some pretty nice rewards from Gems, Crests, and at 15 tasks, a Glorious Dawn Portal.

Pokemon GO pulls on its jersey for a football-mad Madrid Fest

Posted by Shaun Walton on June 4th, 2024

There have been a lot of jokes about this, some by me, but Pokemon Go has genuinely done a lot of good by getting people out and about.Pokemon GO Fest 2024: Madrid is fast approaching, and Niantic has set up a new area in a bit to get people to take that next fitness step.

Using the most popular of Spanish sports, Football, or more incorrectly Soccer, Madrid Go Fest will have trainers moving like possibly never between. Players will be able to undertake a series of skill challenges to show off their prowess, with quite the delectable grand prize on offer if you look to be the next Xavi.

Stumble Guys dials up the calamity 1000% as Looney Tunes lands in the Stumbleverse

Posted by Shaun Walton on June 3rd, 2024

Credit where it is due, Stumble Guys has had a few top-class crossovers in its’ life; Dungeons and Dragons, Rabbids and SpongeBob Squarepants to name but a few. It is such a shame, though, that all of these have now been well and truly trounced as the perfect collaboration is now here; Looney Tunes has entered the arena.

This time around it isn’t just characters and emotes you get, although there is a ton of these to collect. There will also be a new game mode, inspired by the wacky cartoon adventures we all know and love. Seriously, could there be a better crossover than this one? I think not folks.
