With just over a month to go until the NFL season begins again, it's time for fantasy football players to start setting up their leagues and prepare for a draft or two. Ahead of the season starting, the NFL Fantasy Football app has been rebuilt, bringing new features into the fray.

Alongside live scoring, player news, and the ability to set up weekly line-ups, the app now features the ability to take part in live and mock drafts - meaning being on the move won't stop users from making a move for their favorite wide-receiver. Users can now also propose and accept player trades with other teams from within the app.

The NFL Fantasy Football app is available now and is free to download.

The World Cup has finished, and it's not long until the European football season starts once again. In the meantime we have the minor chaos that is the summer transfer window, with players from around the world moving from one team to another.

In order to help football fans follow transfers easier, Swedish developers Football Addicts have updated their football tracking app Forza Football, adding the ability to track rumored and confirmed player transfers. Users can now set it so they receive transfer updates for their favorite club via push notifications, giving them details on the player, their current club, the club they are or may be moving to and the price, as well as the source if it's a rumor and the type of transfer if it's confirmed.

Forza Football is available on the App Store now and is free to download.

Now Available: R.B.I. Baseball is a New Mobile Take on the Classic Baseball Game Formula

Our rating: starstarstarhalfstarblankstar :: RETRO REVIVED :: Read Review »

R.B.I. Baseball, known as the most popular Baseball game to ever be released for the Nintendo Entertainment System, has received a reboot via the modern smartphone. The original game licensed players from the MLB, and the same is true for R.B.I. Baseball 14, which features 480 of the current lineup of players. You can play the game, with visuals just slightly better than its predecessor, in a variety of modes including season, postseason, and exhibition.

The game features all 30 MLB teams, and you can play an entire 9-inning game in just 20 minutes. It also features easy-to-use "classic" controls, allowing you to control the game with what is basically just two buttons. The game is also very realistic, featuring players whose appearance and abilities are based on real stats. Finally, there is unlockable in-game content such as legacy jerseys that you can unlock by playing season mode.

You can get R.B.I. Baseball 14 on the App Store for $4.99.

BBC Sport Released

Posted by Jeff Scott on February 6th, 2013
+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

BBC has released an iPhone app specifically targeted to the UK sports lover. In other words, Football fans. In my quick look it's well done, and generally snappy version of their mobile site. Though it does seem to lack features that you would expect like the ability to add favorite teams. (or favourite teams if you prefer)

London 2012 Themed Daily Edition Of Sports Illustrated

Posted by Jennifer Allen on July 24th, 2012
iPad App - Designed for iPad

The London 2012 Summer Olympics are very nearly upon us, and they mark the first Summer Olympics with a hugely successful App Store to tempt us in. The App Store was new and somewhat untouched ground back in 2008, so it's no wonder we're seeing so many titles emerge this time round. Sports Illustrated Live from London 2012 is one such title.

Sports Illustrated Live from London 2012 offers the stunning photography we've come to expect from Sports Illustrated, along with up to the second scores and results. A medal count as well as regular news will be provided, alongside a schedule of all upcoming events.

It's the photography that will hopefully grip users the most, however, with top photos of each day and a daily video recap promised. Throughout, there are features from Sports Illustrated's writers to capture readers' attentions.

Sports Illustrated Live from London 2012 should prove an ideal visual-heavy companion to the Summer Olympics this month.

It's out now for the iPad and is free to download.

FIFA 13 is Going to Make a Lot of Soccer Fans Very Happy

Posted by Rob Rich on July 2nd, 2012

I’m not what anyone would consider a soccer fan, but that doesn’t keep me from appreciating all of the cool stuff players can expect to find in EA’s upcoming FIFA 13. This is, of course, in addition to the expected bullet-points such as improved graphics and such.

FIFA 13 is indeed a great looking game. Player animations are incredibly smooth and their likenesses are captured eerily well considering this is an iOS game. Although they do have that creepy blank look that so many real world based character models tend to have. A bunch of smaller details will no doubt cause salivary glands to work overtime as well, including balls sporting the proper logos and all the tiny graphics typically found on a player’s jersey. And all of these fine details can be enjoyed up close and personal thanks to the game’s instant replay feature.

It doesn’t stop with tie visuals though. For the first time ever EA Sports Football Club will make its way into an iOS title. Even better, preexisting accounts will be carried over, so nobody will have to start from scratch on their iOS device. Of course my personal favorite addition is the way special skill shots and moves can be controlled via a second virtual stick on the right-hand side of the screen. Simply tap and drag in a given pattern or direction and the controlled player will start with the fancy footwork.

No information is available yet on pricing, but football (football, football) enthusiasts can expect to find FIFA 13 in the App Store sometime this fall.
