Dragons: Rise of Berk, by Ludia, lets you build your own version of Berk. But now you have to defend it from raiders! The newest update introduces a combat mode where you can use your dragons to defend the town and rescue other dragons. Assist your fighting dragon with your catapult and check out your stored dragons in the new Dragon Hangar.

The island is covered in a fresh fall of snow for the holidays and you'll be able to find collection objects and treasure chests. Give them to Trader Johann for rewards. You might even get an exotic dragon in the exchange! The update also brings you a ton of new dragons, including some that are holiday themed and some from the films like Thunderpede, Grapple Grounder, Sliquifier, and more.

You can find all the new and exciting additions in Dragons: Rise of Berk for free on the App Store.

Fans of 'How to Train Your Dragon' will be excited to hear DreamWorks Animation has released their first interactive story app, DreamWorks Press: Dragons, based off the movie. The app will include the film's main characters, Toothless and Hiccup, and allows users to train their own dragons! The story begins with Hiccup and Toothless finding the main character lost at sea with no memory of their past. The reader must take on the role of the main character as they teach their dragon to defend Berk, explore new lands, and guide their character through an epic journey of self discovery.

This story is part one of a series, with later chapters coming out this fall. The app is designed for readers ages 5 and under, 6 to 8, and 9 to 11 years old with scaling reading levels. DreamWorks Press’ Head of Publishing, Emma Whittard, said "I am tremendously proud of our debut story app. It truly is an interactive experience and puts the reader in the center of the story.”

School of Dragons - Have Fun Learning About Science in This MMO Spin-Off of a Dreamworks Classic

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

How To Train Your Dragon was a surprisingly great movie. So much so that it's spawned a fair number of spin-offs across multiple forms of media. All of it seems to have culminated in School of Dragons: a new MMO for the iPad from Knowledge Adventure.

School of Dragons is about what you'd expect from a free-to-play MMO based on an animated film about dragons. You'll get to meet Hiccup, Toothless, and pretty much everyone else you'd want while completing missions, raising and training your own dragon, and making friends with other players. What's interesting (aside from the fact that it's licensed from an awesome movie and is full of dragons) is that it also aims to be educational. While completing quests players will actually start to learn about science. Life science, space science, earth science, and more are interwoven with the gameplay in the hopes that you'll have fun and learn at the same time.

School of Dragons is available now for the iPad.
