We’re getting closer and closer to Halloween every day, which means everyone’s gearing up to watch their favorite horror movies, make weekend trips out to pumpkin patches, and do all kinds of other, fun seasonal stuff before this month ends and everyone looks toward Thanksgiving.

If you’re in the midst of all your Halloween activities and you want to take a break with some games that match the spirit, we’ve got good news for you. There’s a bunch of great games on the App Store that can get you in the mood for Halloween, and we’ve compiled a list of the best ones in a handy little list. Kingdom Rush Vengeance Update Guide 3 - What you need to know about the Halloween Update

Kingdom Rush: Vengeance now has gotten three updates. It started with the Subaquatic Menace back in February, followed by The Frozen Nightmare in May. And just yesterday, a Halloween update went live featuring three new stages, four new enemies, a premium hero, and a premium tower.

After playing through this latest update, I can safely say it’s the most satisfying content addition to the game so far. Read on for why that is.

If you really want to be spooked for Halloween, there are few mobile games that can do the job better than Kaigan Games’s Simulacra. This is a game I included on my list of games to get you in the Halloween spirit specifically because it’s the most horrifying game I’ve played on a phone, bar none.

Knights of Pen & Paper, by Paradox North, has gotten a Halloween-themed update called Haunted Fall.  While the holiday has already passed, the update includes plenty to keep you happy.

You'll have access to a new Witch class, enemies, locations, and quests. The Witch joins your team as a healer and hexer, weakening your foes just when you need it. You'll be able to explore the Corn Field Maze and the Abandoned Dwarven Mall.

Hyperbeard Games' Muertitos Celebrates Halloween and Dia de los Muertos

Hyperbeard Games is releasing a new matching puzzler with a Día de los Muertos theme, called Muertitos.

The game challenges you to think ahead as you match pieces and try to beat each level. The pieces are designed to look like Mexican 'calaveritas' (little skulls). If you want to get into the spirit of Halloween, the game offers a second set of pieces with classic monsters on them. The game has 32 different characters, 4 different power-ups, and a highscore leaderboard so you can compete with your friends.

You'll be able to grab Muertitos off the App Store soon for $0.99.
