Chances are, if you've made it to Adventure Rank 45 in Genshin Impact, you don't necessarily need a guide on what to do. It's clear you've got a good enough adventurer team, know the general grind, and have mopped up just about every story quest you can get your hands on.
If this doesn't sound like you, maybe you should back up and read our previous progression guides before hopping into this one. For this entry in our Genshin Impact Adventurer's Guide, we'll be outlining some of the finer points of the game that we wish we knew about earlier so as to ease resource management concerns that come up in this endgame state. Read on below to learn more.
As the Albedo banner and freshness of the new Dragonspine region begin to wane, a new event rears its head in Genshin Impact that promises an extremely rare reward. This event, known as Lost Riches, has you playing treasure hunter, collecting Iron Coins all across Teyvat which you can then exchange in a special shop for Primogems, Mora, and--believe it or not--your own pet Seelie.
Genshin Impact isn't a terribly difficult game, but its enemies get tougher the longer you play it and as your world level increases. This makes sense as a progression system, but it can also create gnarly difficulty spikes that are hard to overcome, particularly if you play the game without spending any money.
The immediate response to heightened challenge should be to grind out whatever you need to increase your fighting strength, whether that be via weapon enhancements, character ascensions, or talent leveling. Sometimes this grind isn't all that rewarding, though, and it might not fully compensate for all the problems you're facing in combat. With that in mind, we're putting together tips and tricks all focused around Genshin Impact's combat, for those situations where grinding is not enough. Read on to sharpen your combat skills.
Genshin Impact's Dragonspine event, The Chalk Prince and The Dragon, is well under way, giving players a ton of challenges to complete for some amazing rewards, including brand-new weapons, upgrade materials, and the ever-crucial Mora.
Many of the activities associated with this event simply unlock over time, but there are rewards related to the Frostbearing Tree (which needs to be fed Crimson Agate to level up, much like the Statues of the Seven scattered across the rest of Teyvat). From this tree, you can earn Fates, a new namecard, and more.
The end game of Genshin Impact largely revolves around spending resin to take on world bosses and clear domain challenges. These fights grant amazing rewards like rare artifacts and ascension materials for weapons and adventurers, but obviously only if you're up for the challenge.
Of all the world bosses in Genshin Impact, by far the most difficult is Oceanid. This hydro boss spawns waves of enemies and unleashes powerful elemental explosions, all while your field of battle submerges underwater. It's intense, and--at times--downright brutal, but if you have any hydro adventurers like Mona, Tartaglia (Childe), Xinqiu, or Barbara, you need to defeat this boss to ascend them. Read on below for some tips on how to make the Oceanid fight a little more manageable.
To keep its open world challenging, Genshin Impact increases the strength of its enemies as you advance your Adventure Rank. The only somewhat troublesome thing about this system though is that it isn't dependent on the power of your adventurers. Your Adventure Rank advances for pretty much doing anything, even if those things don't directly make your team stronger. As a result, you can find yourself in a situation where your World Level bumps up suddenly to create a pretty tough difficulty spike to overcome.
In this situation, Genshin Impact can become frustrating, but there are ways out of it. It also should be a relatively quick fix, provided you've been careful about your currencies and have some to spare. Read on to learn more about what to do if you hit a World Level that suddenly feels overwhelming.
As you get deeper and deeper into Genshin Impact, the more you have to prepare and think about what your next moves are in terms of progression, particularly if you're not spending money on the game. As your world level increases, so does the toughness of the enemies you face, and so you'll need to make sure you can still take them down, whether that's with friends or by yourself.
At Adventure Rank 35, the game should still be pretty manageable in terms of difficulty no matter what characters you are using, which makes it a perfect time to start preparing for World Level 6 and getting ever closer to maxing out your characters. Read on below to figure out the best way to do this.
Genshin Impact's 1.1 update has brought a ton of new content to the game, and one of these things is a brand new event: Unreconciled Stars. This event kicked off yesterday and is running through the end of the month. There are sweet rewards and some cool world-building that happens across the event, so make sure you hop in and start it as soon as possible.
Just keep in mind that Unreconciled Stars is only available to players who are Adventure Rank 20 or higher. If you need tips on how to advance up to that rank quickly, check out our progression guide here before reading on about how to get involved in this event.
In the 1.1 update to Genshin Impact, the final chapter to the story arc in Liyue reaches its climax with a fight against Tartaglia (AKA Childe), one of the Fatui Harbingers. We won't go into detail as to why this is or the circumstances of the world around the fight to avoid potentially spoiling anything more than we already have, but we wanted to post a guide on the Tartaglia boss fight because it is easily one of the toughest parts of the game to-date.
If you've been struggling to win this fight, particularly on mobile, check out the video above and some tips below on how you can win this fight and continue on your quest.
Bounties are new to Genshin Impact in its 1.1 update. As mentioned in our write-up of the new content, players can now grind out reputation for each region available in the game, and one of the ways you can do this is through hunting down powerful boss creatures and killing them in a set time limit.
Watch the video above to see what bounties are like, and read on below to learn everything else you need to know about them.
We're month since Genshin Impact's initial release, and we're already here at our second event. The Marvelous Merchant event has already been underway for two days and we have just the info you need to complete this silly scavenger hunt each day.
The Marvelous Merchant event is essentially a new daily quest that consists of three steps: find the mysterious merchant, give him what he wants, and pick a prize. This guide will keep track of each day's locations, what is being asked for, and the prizes that can be redeemed. Read on below to check them out.
Once you get up to around Adventure Rank 25, Genshin Impact starts to turn into a different thing. What was once a story-driven affair evolves into something more like a traditional MMO.
This isn't to say there isn't anything to do, though there are fewer novel things to uncover at this stage in the game. That being said, this is where you really need to start focusing your energy in the right direction, particularly if you're a non-paying player. Read on below to get a sense of what to expect in Genshin Impact's mid-game.

If you're playing Genshin Impact without spending money, you'll always need to be looking for ways to optimize your play to maximize rewards without getting stuck in a position where you're tempted to spend. The most obvious trap here is the game's gacha system that is constantly dangling cool new characters in front of you in hopes that you'll want to go all-in on Wishes.
Primogems are the only currency you can use on Genshin Impact's virtual slot machine, but you don't always need to be spending them to try and get new characters. In fact, at times that can be a really bad idea. Read on for some tips from a seasoned gacha player about how to manage your premium currency most efficiently.
