Jamie's Recipes Are Really Good

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad

A few years back, after watching the Food Network for a week straight, I went out to Border's Books and picked up a copy of 'Cook With Jamie.' I was hoping to find some great easy meals that I could cook for myself, but instead I got the a great looking book filled with ingredients that were completely foreign to my palate. Friends would come over and I would say, "Hey guys, how about we stay in tonight. I'll cook some spicy pangrattato risotto!" Almost in unison, they would look at me and say, "How 'bout Chili's?"

So while their college taste buds weren't quite ready to stray from burgers and dogs, I badly wanted to make something interesting, but approachable at the same time. Jamie Oliver's new app, Jamie's Recipes is a great way to start your culinary journey without scaring the townsfolk. In the app, which is exceptionally organized, you get countless recipes and videos (some free, most via in-app purchase) that are fun and approachable. Dishes like spicy shepherd's pie and easy tray-baked cod will blow your friends away, but both can be made fairly easily.

Jamie's Recipes comes with twelve free recipes and four videos, and can be expanded with themed content packs (via in-app purchase) that contain ten additional recipes and a video. Adding packs can add a bunch to the price of the free app, but the cost is much less than going out and buying one of his hard-bound cookbooks, which don't even have videos!

If you're a Jamie Oliver fan, or are just looking to find some great recipes from a world class English chef, look no further than Jamie's Recipes. It's free in the App Store, so go on and give it a whirl.
