Rocketcat Games Reveals Their Upcoming Endless Brawler, Punch Quest

Posted by Carter Dotson on June 25th, 2012

Rocketcat Games and Madgarden has released the first trailer for its upcoming game, Punch Quest. For those who haven't followed the game's development on Rocketcat Games’ Twitter and Facebook pages, Punch Quest is a hybrid of a Final Fight or Double Dragon beat ’em up with an endless runner game. It will also have plenty of action-packed craziness, shown off in the first preview trailer for the game. It’s hard not to be interested in a game that includes punching giant dinosaur eggs, which then pop out the protagonist riding a dinosaur that shoots lasers. Oh, and Gnomey from previous Rocketcat games is also playable.

And yes, the game is both a quest about punching, and punching stuff while on a quest. There will be lots and lots of punching. The game is set to hit this fall, and those who can’t get enough of the launch trailer can also check out various other snippets of early gameplay on this YouTube playlist. It will be free to play with IAP for coins. This isn’t the only thing to look forward to from Rocketcat Games, as they are also working on a free-to-play roguelike Mage Gauntlet spinoff.

Street Fighter X Tekken: Coming To iOS This Summer

Posted by Jennifer Allen on June 14th, 2012

Capcom has announced that hugely successful beat em up crossover Street Fighter X Tekken will be making its way from the consoles over to iOS this summer.

The beat em up successfully melds together the worlds of Street Fighter and Tekken in order to make for a fantastic brawler. The iOS version promises to bring with it a balanced character roster including the likes of Ryu and Chun-Li from the Street Fighter series and Kazuya and Nina from the Tekken series.

Capcom is no stranger to iOS releases of their popular franchises so the promise of an UI and control system designed with mobile devices in mind should be easily achieved here.

There is some bad news for certain iOS device owners, however. Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile is set to be compatible with iPhone 4 and 4S, iPod Touch 4th Gen and iPad 2 and the New iPad. Bad luck, 3GS owners.

We'll be sure to keep you up to date with all the latest developments surrounding Street Fighter x Tekken Mobile. For now, enjoy these screenshots.

Sarge Collects A Paycheck, But We Play For Free

Posted by Rob Thomas on November 17th, 2011
iPhone App - Designed for iPhone, compatible with iPad

Sarge and his partner Trysh have been contracted for a dangerous job. They have to disable a beacon hidden aboard an human ship that, if activated, could prove disastrous in the ongoing war between the United Terra Initiative and the alien Nova Imperium.

Sounds rough, right? But hey, a guy’s gotta pay his bills somehow. There’s never a dull moment in the life of an interstellar mercenary.

Sarge is the newest iOS release from Avalinx. Over six stages of hand-drawn 2D brawling, players will control the eponymous merc as he wades fist-first through hordes of alien foes in his quest to save the planet Zephyr... and get paid in the process.

The visuals are all hand-drawn, and from the trailer it appears that the fully-voiced story has a quirky sense of humor to match the cartoony presentation. There is nothing about that last sentence that is in any way unappealing to me.

Hurry up, though. Because while Avalinx is releasing Sarge for the very agreeable price of free, they've stated that it’s only for a limited time. So punch that time clock and start racking up an alien body count already.
