Gameloft Titles & iPad Rentals Come To Jetstar Flights

Posted by Jennifer Allen on November 25th, 2011

iPads are taking over the world and it looks like our skies too. Gameloft has collaborated with Australian airline Jetstar in order to offer a lineup of 12 pre-loaded games for iPads as part of the in-flight entertainment program for passengers.

From December, five titles will be available encompassing a range of different interests. These titles include Real Football, Shrek Kart, Avatar, UNO and N.O.V.A: Near Orbit Vanguard Alliance.

Coming to the airline in the first quarter of 2012 will be the remaining seven titles: GT Racing: Motor Academy, Brain Challenge, Blokus, Iron Man 2, Let's Golf! 2, The Settlers and Asphalt 5. It's a varied bunch both in terms of genre and quality but it should be plenty to keep passengers entertained during their flight.

Passengers will be able to rent iPads with such games on them when flying longer than 2 hours for A$10 to A$15 per flight. Not bad at all for a heap of fun.

Asphalt 5 Gameplay Trailer

Posted by Chris Hall on October 16th, 2009

I've never hidden my love for a good gameplay trailer, so here is another great one from Gameloft.

From the trailer, I fully expect to see a fast paced, Need For Speed type racing game with (hopefully) easier drift controls and some cool looking shortcuts. The actually gameplay looks quite solid, and I'm hoping that some of the non racing features stack up as well, such as extra car customizations (new tires, engines, exhaust) and multiplayer stability. I'm definitely excited for this one to come out... so while we're waiting, enjoy the trailer!

Asphalt 5 Coming Soon

Posted by Chris Hall on September 23rd, 2009

Being a huge fan of good arcade racing games on the iPhone (i.e. Need For Speed: Undercover, Asphalt 4), this title is pretty high on my 'want to play very soon list'. My only complaint of the last Asphalt game was that the graphics just weren't quite as good as some other racing games in the app store (see NFS). While I have no new screenshots to show or details, the Asphalt 5 demo at WWDC was quite revealing. The graphics look quite amazing, courses are quite interactive with short cuts throughout, and there is going to be worldwide WIFI multiplayer... something that, if done right, could make this game an instant iPhone classic. Well, until the next $6-$9 iPhone classic comes out... they seem to be a dime a dozen these days. Anyways, enjoy this new promo video. It's quite slick and stylishly unrevealing.
