By Jennifer Allen on February 17th, 2014
Our rating: starstarstarstarblankstar :: OLD SCHOOL CHALLENGE
Testing players just like it did back in 1985, Doomdark's Revenge is a complex strategy game but one that will entice as much as it will sometimes infuriate.

By Jennifer Allen on December 13th, 2013
Our rating: starstarhalfstarblankstarblankstar :: LIMITED BUT HISTORICAL
As a retro curiosity and historical piece, Ninja Boxing Calculator does the job, but it's really quite unexciting by modern standards.

Our rating: starstarstarhalfstarblankstar :: WHETS THE APPETITE

Link: Vectrex Regeneration Coming to iOS; 80s Rarest Home Gaming Console

Posted by Jeff Scott on August 22nd, 2012

Touch Arcade's resident retro-gaming expert, Blake Patterson, has the details on Vectrex Regeneration, a Vectrex in an app, coming soon.

For those not familiar, Vectrex was very unique in the home gaming world of the 1980s. It had it's own vector display and it's own unique games. It was completely standalone, and completely awesome.

The Vectrex Regeneration app will include all of the games that were available for the original Vectrex. Member's Only jacket and parachute pants not included. Look for it soon, but not soon enough for this Vectrex fan.

1980s Classic Hero Dizzy Comes To iOS This December

Posted by Jennifer Allen on November 25th, 2011

I feel a little under pressure to come up with the most fantastic egg based puns I can possibly imagine. Unfortunately, I'm no puns eggs-pert...ohh, there we are.

That pun out of the way, it pleases me very much to state that Dizzy, the famous egg adventurer of the 1980s, is back and will soon be splatting his way onto an iOS device. On 9th December in fact or Egg-mergence Day as Codemasters have decided to call it.

Dizzy, for the too young/inexperienced to know about, was the hero of many adventure games of old back on the ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64. I'll admit it now. Having owned most of the titles, my 7 year old brain never quite managed to complete any of them but they were fantastic fun.

Coming to iOS will be Dizzy: Prince of the Yolkfolk, a remake of the classic 1991 adventure. Plenty of puzzles will need to be solved along with a healthy dash of platforming fun too.

We'll be sure to have a review of it in time for its release. For now, enjoy the teaser trailer and plethora of screenshots below. It promises to be an egg-cellent time. I'm sorry.
