One of the problems with cloud storage is that it sometimes means that one's data is scattered all across the internet. Organized souls might have managed to keep everything in one place but, well, not everyone is that organized, right? That's without accounting for those who have to keep things in multiple sources for various reasons. WebDrive aims to simplify that issue by offering a place in which one can browse numerous different file storage places at once. It's far from stylish but it does the job.
WebDrive offers support for Amazon S3, Google Drive, FTP servers, WebDAV, and Sharepoint servers. In each case, different settings are often required to log in to one's account, but the process is much the same. It'll take a few moments to get this all up and running but once completed, WebDrive is a breeze to use. Using a clearly laid out file structure, users can simply browse through their files fairly seamlessly. I spent a good while looking through an image folder on my FTP server without any issues or slowdown. Certainly, in the case of simply looking at content, WebDrive does a great job.
Still, as a quick solution, especially where FTP access is concerned, WebDrive is still convenient. Being able to move or view a file is handy with this level of ease. Also being able to send files to others, either via email or Twitter and Facebook is certainly much more convenient than more conventional means.
WebDrive isn't quite up there in terms of being essential but the groundwork is there. One can hope that the ability to edit files isn't too far off, as it will certainly make all the difference here.
