Let it Rainbow is an Endless Running game that dispenses with the needs for a cutesy main character, coins to collect, or anything particularly involved like that. Instead, it’s all about colors and minimalism. It doesn’t entirely hit the spot, being a little too simplistic, but it’s a neat idea.
You control a colored line as it hurtles along the tracks. 7 different colors exist at any one time, and it’s down to you to tap or swipe the screen in order to direct your line to the one that matches it. The colors change frequently so you'll need to have your wits about you, and if you don’t reach the color in time it’s game over. On a similar note, if you hit an obstacle on your way, it’s game over.
That’s as complicated as Let it Rainbow gets, but it mostly works. Switching between the lanes is simple yet effective, with swiping proving to be slightly easier than tapping.
Let it Rainbow could do with a little more going for it, but then again it is quite charming in its own way. This is helped by the many fake quotes it throws your way, purporting to be from people such as Hades and Vlad the Impaler. Again, it’s simply done but it’s quite an entertaining touch - at least for the first few times.
It’s not really the kind of game you’re going to be playing for hours on end. Let it Rainbow doesn’t offer that kind of longevity or evolutionary gameplay, but it’s quite a cute little delight. Its colorful nature means you’ll appreciate its style and candor, even despite the fact you’ll move onto other things soon enough.
