Little Raiders: Robin’s Revenge offers all the free-to-play elements you can imagine, yet that doesn’t stop it from being a fun game to dip into. Reasonably well balanced, it’s a little shallow at times but consistently entertaining.
A mixture of RPG and village building sim, there’s a fair amount to take in at first. Little Raiders: Robin’s Revenge offers a detailed yet simply explained tutorial with early missions guiding you through the basics. Essentially, you go out on various quests and return with your plundered loot in order to develop your village further. That breaks Little Raiders: Robin’s Revenge up into two separate games of sorts, ensuring there’s always something new to do.
Developing the village is done in a typical freemium kind of way with timers used to slow down how long it takes to build something new. This is perhaps where Little Raiders: Robin’s Revenge drags a bit, but being able to complete missions in a more unrestricted way means you don’t feel cheated.
Missions are fairly simple, often involving you killing a bandit chief or collecting certain items. You tap to move your characters around while also tapping to aim at certain enemies. It’s nothing overly taxing, meaning each mission is often quite brief - proving ideal for a mobile format.
What you aim to do depends partly on your intentions where the village is concerned, but also on how tightly you want to follow the longer quest lines of the game. It all feels reasonably open-ended and plentiful in size.
Of course, at times you’re going to feel like money would help a lot here. Some of the best weapons are almost exclusively for those willing to pay up for them, but there’s enough here to keep you interested for free. Perhaps more importantly, you won’t mind spending a couple of bucks here and there purely because Little Raiders: Robin’s Revenge deserves that kind of money. It’s a fun mixture of popular genres and, while simple, is the ideal title to switch your brain off to.
