Four Pigs Soccer is a fun little party game, provided one can rustle up three more piglets to play with.

When we put three pigs together, we get a bunch of ramshackle buildings that are prone to wolf attacks. When we put four pigs together, however, we get a pretty decent soccer game that's well-suited for a passel of friends with nothing to do. Ole!

Four Pigs Soccer is a party game capable of supporting up to four players at once. While the on-screen antics certainly resemble soccer, don't expect anything that resembles legitimate league play. Four Pigs Soccer is as simple as can be. Two players take one side, and two others play on the opposite side of the pitch. The goal, so to speak, is to knock the ball into the other team's net. That's it. There aren't any red or yellow cards, and no fouls or throw-ins. The team that has the highest score after one minute and fifteen seconds is the winner.

Ideally, Four Pigs Soccer should be played on a tablet with four friends controlling a pig at each corner. AI fills in for absent human players, though it's the cheering and the elbowing that makes Four Pigs Soccer a fun ride. The single-player mode is admittedly a bit dull, though the cute graphics and cheery music are still smile-worthy.

One of the nicest things about Four Pigs Soccer is that it's modest about its in-app purchases. Players can pay to unlock new animal players, though the default set is just fine and offers a assortment of piggies that differ in speed and strength. There's also an option to buy "tickets" that let players get right back into a new game without having to wait for the countdown to conclude between each match - but waiting for said countdown won't suck away hours of life.

Four Pigs Soccer can still use some tightening-up, though. The brief tutorial that precedes every match is conducted in pictures, and its instructions aren't very clear as a consequence. There's also a mention of changing weather conditions and pitch conditions, but no explanation of how to trigger them.

Though not perfect, Four Pigs Soccer is still a fun way for soccer fans to pass the time at a small party. Download it and act like pigs.
