With a focus on flat design and simplicity, Peek Calendar is a convenient calendar app for those who just want a basic and straightforward way of tracking their appointments. Predictably though, it won't be for those who need to track multiple calendars or do anything overly complex.
The layout is immediately quite clear to understand. With a focus on today and the option to scroll down to see future dates, it'll only take a second or two to see what's on the agenda coming up. Adding a new event is a matter of holding a finger to the day before entering the relevant details. It's only possible to add a time in a multiple of five but that should cater for the vast majority of appointments. A bar graph makes it easy to set up the time, rather than being restricted to tapping in the details.
Peek Calendar doesn't give a heads up of which calendar the appointment is being added to, so for those juggling multiple calendars this isn't really the tool for them. Like the App Description points out though, this isn't meant to be for power users; it's meant for those who just want a helping hand. That's noticeable in the little details, such as the ability to shake the iOS device to be given a suggestion of what to do next, to set aside time to relax, or do something that one enjoys. As an overview of what needs doing and when, Peek Calendar does the job nicely for the average person. It could perhaps do with some useful tweaks like being able to set a specific time for something rather than 5 minute increments, but it's still mostly quite convenient.
