Time Inc know how to make decent cookery apps. While Real Simple Recipes tackled how to make tasty meals in a short space of time and Cooking Light Recipes taught us how to cook healthy meals, MyRecipes Daily Indulgence deals with the kind of cookery that's ideal with Thanksgiving ever nearer. As the title suggests, it's all about desserts such as cakes, cookies, pies, frozen treats and even low-sugar treats.

Just like the previous apps, MyRecipes Daily Indulgence offers a plethora of delicious images conveying just what delights are available to cook or bake. Focusing on a dessert a day mentality, the app displays an ideal recipe for each day of the year. Every recipe has a seasonal feel such as November bringing with it plenty of pecan and pumpkin based treats. Users aren't restricted to browsing by calendar date however, with the option of looking according to category or by searching via a keyword search. Each recipe lists some helpful tags such as whether they're quick to make or ideal for children. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any way of looking items up via their tag.

Upon selecting a recipe, comprehensive instructions are provided with easy to read ingredients and numbered preparation tips ensuring that it's easy to understand what needs to be done. Nutritional information is provided with many recipes, but not all, as well as videos for relevant techniques required. As with many apps in the series, MyRecipes Daily Indulgence includes sponsored recipes that are unobtrustive and frequently just as pleasant sounding as the others. There's also the practically obligatory shopping list section of the app for those who want to use it as a tool in the store.

MyRecipes Daily Indulgence is a solid app that provides almost everything anyone would want from a dessert recipe app. I'd have liked to have seen more nutritional information available, as well as the ability to search according to tag. Despite such oversights however, MyRecipes Daily Indulgence is as enjoyable as the rest of the series and serves up some tasty treats just in time for the festive season.
