LINE Webtoon Review

Everyone loves comics, right? And everyone loves free stuff, yes? Well, while LINE Webtoon isn't the most stylish of apps to look at, it certainly offers plenty of content. For those wanting free webcomics on a daily basis, it's got that market covered.

The idea is that each day of the week, seven to ten new webtoons are updated, meaning there's always something new to check out. Each comic is pretty varied. Action, Fantasy, Romance, Comedy, and numerous other genres are all catered for here, meaning there's something for everyone's taste. There's even a heartwarming section and, you know what? It actually is quite sweet. There's a plentiful supply of episodes for each too, meaning it should take a while to read through them all. The story quality dips in certain places and admittedly, these aren't comics to rival some of the more premium content out there, but they do pass the time.

Layout wise, LINE Webtoon makes it easy to browse through everything with star ratings advising you of what's particularly good. Summaries and suggestions as to what else you might like further help you figure out where to look and what might appeal. It's simply done and not particularly elegant, but it works.

Scrolling through each comic is a matter of swiping downwards and is easy to do as well as conveniently possible with one hand, ideal for the daily commute. Refreshingly, LINE Webtoon doesn't rely on an internet connection at all times either, allowing you to download content for offline browsing.

LINE Webtoon won't set the comic book world on fire, lacking some handy finesse in certain places, but it's a fun enough solution for those simply wanting to enjoy some free content.
