Likes! is a clever idea focused on using the user's Facebook friends to determine the best places to eat, visit, read or watch, all according to the amount of likes given to each item.

In many ways, Likes! is a lot like Yelp but it benefits from one crucial difference: the Facebook connectivity. Knowing that a place to eat or movie to watch is good according to friends has that added bonus that relying on strangers who the user knows nothing about just can't compete with.

It's incredibly easy to set up Likes! which is a huge benefit. All that's needed is to enter Facebook login details and wait a few seconds for the app to compile the relevant information. There are a few permissions that must be set up but fortunately, I've not noticed any interference with my account so far.

Once the likes have been collated, Likes! divides them all according to category so it's easy to look through the many entries. These categories comprise of useful things such as Arts/Entertainment/Nightlife to Hotels or Restaurants. Other likes focused on interests such as particular actors, companies or movies are available through a separate tab of the app so that it's similarly easy to browse.

When an entry is tapped on, information such as website details and which friends have liked the place or interest is produced and everything can be browsed according to distance from the current location. Information can also be emailed to others, making it ideal for sharing suggestions with friends.

Likes! is simple to browse yet very effective. While much of it is going to depend on the Facebook friends the user has and how much they interact with 'liking' things, the primary focus behind Likes! works well and is a great way of consolidating interests.
