Sometimes, family vacations can be some of the most stressful events. Someone always forgets something, plane or car rides are long, and sometimes the parents insist on discussing religion and politics. However, trips to DisneyWorld in Orlando, Florida, are something magical; where most of those cares disappear as one is immersed into the mind of Walt Disney and the subsequent lineage of iconic characters following from his legacy. But even such a happy place can have its stressors. Luckily, the fine people at Disney have created the My Disney Experience app to help make one's trip an amazing adventure.
Both DisneyWorld newbies and veterans alike will enjoy everything this app has to offer. From setting dinner reservations at any of the many sit down establishments throughout the entire area to setting FastPasses for the day, this app really helps make a trip even better. Decide on the fly to get a FastPast for Space Mountain instead of the Haunted Mansion? The My Disney Experience app will let users do that from the convenience of their iOS device. Forgot what time the park closes? Also right in the palm of the user's hand. But probably one of the best things about this app that one will certainly never see from other amusement parks? This app gives live, updated wait times for all of the various attractions. There are a couple of features that are lacking, however. Those with MagicBands are allowed to charge souvenirs or other purchases to their room via the bands, while also using their various meal vouchers, should they have purchased a meal plan beforehand. However, while the app requires users to log into their Disney account, it does not track any information about what has been charged on their band. The app also lacks any information on Bus times or other transportation around the parks.
Despite having its drawbacks, the My Disney Experience app will be a quintessential part of anyone's Disney trip. It will help them plan out their day, and even let them change most things on the go; alleviating a huge amount of stress that often comes with family vacations. While some may feel the best technology at DisneyLand comes from the World of Tomorrow, it actually resides right in one's pocket, with the full ability to interact with it. It's like being Sorcerer Mickey.
