Dreams are usually best left up to interpretation, and 2 Dreams is a game that highlights this particularly well by creating an experience that depicts the unusual and illogical thought pattern our brain takes when we are in deep slumber.

More of an experience than anything else, but labeled as a reality-bending narrative puzzle adventure, it could be said that 2 Dreams gets its inspiration from games such as Device 6, due to its similarity in style and structure. That said, 2 Dreams is an exceptionally unique game, prominent for just how unique it is and the story it tells.

The game works by following a maze of tappable buttons that lead the player through a dreamscape filled with random occurrences and outcomes. Integrated and woven between the interesting layout are puzzles that seem to test the logic and thought patterns of the player, with every puzzle holding its own meaning behind the action taken, resulting in leaving the player to their own final interpretation. The artwork is simple but imaginative, with interactive scenes to build up a surreal atmosphere. 2 Dreams is a visionary work of art; an intellectual game that definitely inspires cognition, to some degree.

The way the game builds up anticipation for answers and generates a world built around a vision left to one’s own perception is exceptionally fascinating. 2 Dreams has a habit of keeping the player guessing, and leading them on a wild goose chase. Sadly, there's not a whole load of replay value where the game is concerned, due to the nature of it, but the developer has promised possible updates and chapters in the future, so there's always the distinct possibility this may happen.

Personally, I enjoyed 2 Dreams. It was short, clocking in around 30-40 mins max, but it was enjoyable and different from the norm. Possibly the sort of game I’d recommend to those who like adventure puzzle games and a good mind-bending narrative. It’s definitely a journey one will want to experience for themselves - and the sheep are awfully cute. For $1.99, this is an eccentric little puzzler worth grabbing.
