Golem Rage the best game for iOS 12th April

This week, like every week, a lot of games have come out on the App Store. And as usual we're rounding-up all of the best ones so you know exactly what you should be downloading. It's a time-saving measure, and a service we're only too happy to provide.

There are download links included, so you can hop straight to the App Store and pick up the game of your dreams with basically no hassle whatsoever. And if you think we've missed anything out of our list, feel free to stick your own suggestions in the comments at the bottom of the article.

Vandals - download for iOS

What happens if you take the template of the GO games and throw some criminal damage / art into the mix? Well, Vandals is what happens. It's a smart puzzle game with an interesting artistic twist. Move around a series of cities, avoid the police, and leave your mark on the urban sprawl. If you only get one game this week, I'd suggest making it this one.

Golem Rage - download for iOS

A mix between an auto-runner and a crunching brawler, Golem Rage doesn't quite make all the right moves, but it still manages to be a lot of fun. Its violent when it needs to be, and the reams of different enemies it throws at you all need to be handled in different ways. A great, violent distraction.

The Wolf's Bite - download for iOS

An interesting one this. It's a narrative adventure, but rather than playing on your own, you're playing against someone. There are a whole heap of twists and turns that the narrative can take, it looks gorgeous, and the sideways look it takes at the fairytale world is sure to ensnare a lot of ardent admirers.

Friday 13th: Killer Puzzle - download for iOS

If you loved Slayaway Camp, then you'll no doubt have been waiting for this one with baited breath. While that game referenced the slasher movies of the 80s, this one actually stars Jason Voorhees. The murdery puzzles are all still in place, and quite frankly that's all most people are going to want to hear.

Killing Time at Lightspeed - download for iOS

It might have been out on Steam for a while, but this one's a lovely addition to anyone's iOS game library. It's about technology, passivity, and the roles we play in life. Browse social media, and watch as your friends age and die. An important, modern game that will definitely make you think.

Project Highrise - download for iOS

A sim game that sees you managing a huge tower block full of people. Make sure everyone is happy, gainfully employed, and has all of the services they need to make life in their apartments a little better than bearable. Will it all end in some Ballardian nightmare? Well I guess that's really up to you, isn't it?

AZ Rockets - download for iOS

A game about rockets, from the development team behind 99 Rockets. It's fair to say that these people know their rockets. It's minimalistic, it's got a gorgeous soundtrack, and it's the sort of simple game that you can easily lose hours of your life to if you're not careful. My advice? Don't be careful.

TouchGrind BMX 2 - download for iOS

A smart touchscreen sequel that sees you pelting down hills, swiping your fingers around in order to pull off tricks. It's super slick, and there's a whole chunk of content here too. It takes a while to really get the hang of things, but when you have you're going to be having a wonderful time flipping, spinning, and falling off.
