Hog Rider and Freeze

The Hog Rider / Freeze combo is one of the most common and infuriating partnerships found in Clash Royale, because it's super effective.

Dropping a Hog Rider and following it up with a Freeze can wipe out a tower in a single push.

Balloon and Freeze

Balloon and Freeze is another common combination, though it's more expensive. It works in exactly the same way as Hog Rider and Freeze.

Rocket and Huts

The ultimate turtle build uses Rockets and Huts to send a bunch of cheap units at your opponent to keep them busy while you build up the Elixir to chip away at their towers with a Rocket.

Giant and Wizard / Dragon

Giants are great meat shields that can put the hurt on towers, but they're weak to swarm units.

If you place a Wizard or Dragon behind a Giant, their area of effect fireballs will take down most defenses quite easily.

Prince and Valkyrie

If you play your cards right, a Prince and Valkyrie combination can be devastating.

If placed carefully, the Prince can push a Valkyrie down the lane at charging speed, allowing her to take out Skeleton Army or other swarm units while the Prince takes down a tower.

Prince and Dark Prince

The Prince and Dark Prince are fast units that deal two different types of damage. The Prince opts to have one, focused attack while the Dark Prince spreads his damage across enemies.

Using these two together can help keep the Prince alive to deal damage while the Dark Prince fends off mob units.

Elixir Collector and Mortar

Another ultra-defensive combo is the Elixir Collector and Mortar. Using the Elixir Collector helps you easily establish Elixir advantage so you can keep playing Mortars to hit towers from afar.

This strategy forces your opponents to be offensive, which can work to your advantage since you'll have more Elixir.

Hog Rider and Goblins

The Hog Rider is great, but he can be easily distracted or taken down by mobs, so why not add some cheap protection?

Goblins pair well with Hog Rider because they dish out solid damage, are super cheap at two Elixir, and are speedy enough to keep up with it.
