Presidents Run has returned for the 2020 election season with its brand of light-hearted endless running
IKIN's popular endless runner Presidents Run has returned to iOS and Android just in time for the 2020 election season. It will see players choosing their favourite candidate and guiding them on a literal run for presidency to gather as many votes as they can.
These votes will also be tracked globally too, so players will be able to see who the current frontrunner is through a novel spin on the usual leaderboard system. The statistics can be found in-game and on its official website with daily, weekly and all-time filters.
Despite the inclusion of recognisable figures such as Donald Trump and Joe Biden, Presidents Run is intended to be non-partisan and apolitical. This is more evident when you learn that some of the other candidates you can choose from include Zombie Washington and Frankenstein Lincoln.
Presidents Run was quite popular back in 2012 where the leaderboards correctly predicted that Barack Obama would emerge victorious. Discussing Presidents Run's past and potential future, Chad Lee, creative director for IKIN, and developer of the game said:
“Presidents Run generated a lot of activity in 2012, and we expect even more traction in the current political climate. I’m delighted that IKIN has elected to relaunch Presidents Run, particularly as we enter the final stages of the 2020 presidential campaign. The game allows players to actively participate in supporting candidates in a friendly, apolitical, and light-hearted way.”
Aside from simply gathering votes, players will be able to spend them on various power-ups that will help them gain even more miles on the competition. These include enhanced footwear, head starts and other useful abilities.
