Pixel Starships guide - Tips and tricks for conquering the galaxy
Ever wanted to conquer the galaxy with your very own starship? Of course you have! How could you not?
Pixel Starships is an excellent way to do precisely that, and we have some great tips and tricks on how best to succeed in your plan for domination.
Don’t worry about factions
When I first loaded up Pixel Starships, I spent ages trying to decide which faction to follow.
It may be a permanent choice, but it’s really not worth stressing over. You won’t miss out on any missions - just get to see a different ship design and characters.
Resource gathering
Just like so many F2P games, Pixel Starships places a lot of importance on resource gathering. Work on collecting minerals and gas as a priority.
Build a Gas Collector room quickly, as well as a Mineral Storage room, so that you always have space for expansion.
In a similar vein, exploration is far more important than PvP in these early stages.
Other upgrades
Don’t forget to upgrade other rooms! Your reactor is a good first bet, as it’ll boost the energy you have during battles.
Shields and weaponry are also a good call, because then you’ll always stand a chance against your enemies.
The human touch
Like Fallout Shelter, keep your ship busy with crew members. Recruit as many as you can. Each have different stats at their disposal, meaning they usually have a few strengths you can exploit.
Battling it out
Focus on destroying your enemy’s reactor as they’ll have no remaining power if you manage to achieve this and can’t fire back. It’s an easy win, basically.
If that’s not possible due to crew protection (remember, if a crew member is placed in a room they'll keep it repaired) then focus on the ship’s weaponry so they can’t fight back. After that, they stand no chance and you can easily defeat them.
Finally, remember that you can be attacked when you’re not in-game so make sure you leave crew members in key areas of your ship - i.e. the reactor room, shield area, and weaponry room, so they can fend off attacks.
