Some of the greatest mobile games are actually the simplest ones, and it’s this philosophy that Mulled 2 was built on. Out now for iOS and Android, the puzzle sequel takes the accessible mechanics of its predecessor and builds on them with enticing community features and more.
Like the original game, which won the Mobily Developer Award back in 2013, Mulled 2 is a physics-based puzzler in which players must guide balls into golden holes. The gameplay is straightforward but there are more than 100 challenging levels to work your way through.
On top of those levels, developer Hako Games has bundled in a level editor to players can create their own challenges for others to tackle. Even if you’re not the creative type, you can still play through levels others have created and collect all of the gems for an extra challenge.
Mulled 2 is an anticipated released, having snagged two awards prior to its launch. The game won the Big Indie Pitch at Pocket Gamer Connects in Jordan last year and was named as one of the best three entries to the General Entertainment Authority Challenges competition.
Hako Games has moved into experimental territory since releasing the original Mulled, having worked on Reunion and Shout of Survival, both of which use sound direction in creative new ways, so Mulled 2 marks a return to the studio’s puzzle roots.
