Fired Up is Noodlecake Games’ high score chasing, firefighting adventure. You take control of a wayward firefighter who propels himself up the side of a highrise with blasts of water. Sound silly? It is. It’s also pretty difficult.

You can’t control the angle at which you climb the building, sending you flying willy-nilly, oftentimes into the flames. You’ll die many, many times, but there are ways to reach high scores. Here are a few tips to help you survive for as long as possible.

Use short taps
That firehose packs a lot of power, so don’t hold onto the screen for too long. It’s better to use light taps to make progress. Tap lightly on the screen and then let yourself fall a little bit to change your direction. This will give you more control and a little added time to plan where you want to go next.

Rescue people
Putting out fires is all well and good, but you’ll only get points for keeping apartment dwellers from burning to death. Keep an eye out for people who need help to keep your score as high as you can. As an added bonus, you can unlock a life-saving helicopter if you rescue enough people. That’ll make your job a whole lot easier.

Focus on dangers below
You don’t have to put out every fire, sure, but don’t forget to look out below if you start to drift downwards. It’s just as easy to get caught in the flames on lower levels, so it’s important to maintain a good sense of your surroundings at all times, kind of like a real firefighter!

Like most arcade games, Fired Up takes a bit of practice. Take your time, and keep these tips in mind, and you’ll send your scores soaring. Safety first!
