For the unfamiliar, Michael Brough has a habit of taking familiar game genres and tweaking them in a very unique way. He did it for the surreal sokoban puzzler Corrypt, he did it for the supremely excellent hacking Roguelike 868-HACK, and now Pocket Gamer reports that he's doing it again with his upcoming arena survival game, Helix

It's kill or be killed in Helix; much like any other arena survival game. However in this case your only means of attack is to make your little eyeball-thing fly circles around enemies. No guns, bombs, or anything of the sort - just flying. Of course it's a bit more complicated than that. Some enemies will require several passes to be destroyed while others might force players to circle them in a specific direction. It all sounds a bit crazy, really, and I absolutely can't wait to get my hands on it.

Helix will be coming to the App Store later this year.
