Robobot Studio has been busy making bot apps for a while now, from personal horoscope assistants to mobile joke tellers. With Medieval Dynasty, the studio has instead set its sights on the world of RPGs. This is no hack and slash MMO - it’s a multiple-choice strategy game that’s all about the consequences of your decisions.
The king is dead, and you’re taking up the mantle (or rather the jewel-encrusted crown). How will you deal with the challenges your kingdom faces across the ages? The game tests you with multiple-choice questions where each option has a different outcome. You’re given an idea of what an action will do, and the chance of success, but ultimately it’s down to you to decide what’s best for king and country.
Gameplay-wise, it’s a little reminiscent of Reigns: Game of Thrones, but with more elements to juggle and a time span of over a millennium. Each time one king dies, you take control of the next - and that brings with it a change of personality; a ruler’s traits can impact the result of your choices. Your overall goal is to keep things running smoothly, from ensuring your people are well fed and stifling any rebellions to defeating invaders. Will you side with the army, or the church? How will you keep the vassal states of your growing empire content? And why does Duke Robert Graves look so sneaky? Only one way to find out.
