Apex Legends Mobile and Battlefield Mobile were two of the most awaited titles on mobile. Interestingly, the developers of both had promised to provide some sneak peeks into the games.

EA’s Apex Legends Mobile was going to soft launch in a few select regions later this week. Meanwhile, Battlefield Mobile developers were going to run an Alpha test in India and Thailand. Pre-registration for both games has been open for a while.

However, both games have wrapped their plans for now. Apex Legends Mobile’s soft launch will not be happening this week. Instead, the creators have pushed the launch to March 7th. Developer Respawn has tweeted the announcement.

On March 7th, Apex Legends Mobile will be available in Australia, Argentina, Columbia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, and the Philippines. Android and Apple users can download it from the stores.

On the other hand, Battlefield Mobile’s test was initially planned before the end of February. However, Industrial Toys, one of EA’s studios working on the game, has tweeted that the Alpha testing was postponed. Unlike Respawn, Industrial Toys has not provided a tentative date for the test.

These announcements come after Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24. The ongoing conflict between the two countries has impacted several industries, including the gaming industry.

Respawn stated that “Due to current world events, we made the decision to shift the limited regional launch of Apex Legends Mobile. Our intention is to now release the game to participating countries on March 7 Pacific Standard Time”.

Several esports tournaments were either postponed or cancelled owing to the current tensions between Ukraine and Russia. Some huge developers like CD Projekt Red have made donations to humanitarian organizations.
