Amazing Katamari Damacy brings the bizarro world of the original games to mobile and shifts them into an endless format that's just as addictive as the PlayStation entries. Your goal is still to roll as much random stuff as you possibly can, though now you'll face off against spikes and other traps.

While there's a lot of familiar mechanics at play (the rolling and all of that), the game's new endless nature adds some new obstacles into the mix that call for fresh strategy. Here are a few tips to get you rolling.

Start off small

When you're just starting out, you'll only be able to pick up teeny tiny objects. There's no shame in that -- just collect what you can! Items that are flashing white can be rolled up -- others are simply too big. If you roll over too many items that you can't collect just yet, the king will get angry and will eventually end your game.

Look ahead

You're free to roam as you will, but it's important to keep to a safe path. Look ahead to see if there are insurmountable obstacles ahead of you that could spell your doom and veer away. If you know what's coming up next, you're better able to plot your path and dodge.

Collect those powerups

Miniature star children will appear on the ground in your path. Roll over them to collect them. They can be incredibly helpful. Be sure to upgrade them from the main menu, too, as you collect them. These powerups can give you health, attract items to you, and much more.

Learn the language of Katamari

The items you find on your journey to build a planet of stuff are all coded. If you find an item glowing white, that means you can pick it up. Items that don't flash white are likely still too big for you to pull in. Gold-glowing items contain coins, and rainbow-glowing items activate your rockets.
