TypeShift launched a little over a week ago, offering some puzzling new challenges for word nerds equipped with an iOS device. Created by Zach Gage, the mind behind Spelltower, TypeShift boasts, like its predecessor, a sleak design and some very smart puzzles. TypeShift isn't alone though. If you're looking for more slick mobile puzzle games, why not try one of these other games?

There was a time, a few years back, when all anyone could think or talk about was Threes!, a deceptively simple puzzler in which players slide number tiles together with the goal of getting the highest number possible. It might sound like a whole bunch of math, but it's actually a lot of fun even if you're not a numbers person.

Alphabear: Word Puzzle Game

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad
Released: 2015-07-08 :: Category: Game

FREE!

If you're not convinced, though, you might want to give Alphabear a try. It's an adorable word game that has a distinct, pleasing design. When you use letters that are next to each other to spell a word, bears appear. They'll get bigger, too, the more words you make in their surrounding area. It's easy to get into but hard to put down.

1010! Block Puzzle Game

+ Universal App - Designed for iPhone and iPad
Released: 2014-09-25 :: Category: Game

FREE!

1010! is a bit like low-key tetris. Rather than frantically trying to line up blocks, you're filling the screen with tiles trying to create lines of ten. It's elegant in its simplicty and it's easy to drop in and out of throughout the day when you're out and about.
