The Doomsday survival game LifeAfter has set the launch date for its newest season, Power of Mutation. Season 5 will kick off on December 2nd, and pit players against a new crisis that threatens to destroy the already ravaged world.
High above the Doomsday World sea, a giant eye suddenly opens up in the sky, and signals towards an unknown Source. To compound matters, the Infected start to mutate all over the world, giving them a lot of strength and intelligence, making them even more of a pain in the side to survivors.
Under the influence of this new Source, the Infected started to equip themselves with the weapons around them, so it is no longer just you who will be wading into battle all kitted out. Players will need to investigate these strange mutations and collect intelligence from this new signal, finding a new kind of black crystal along the way.
A new location, Ark City has also been sighted. Isolated in the middle of a remote sea and shrouded by heavy god, turbulence and cloud-wall, it has been a place hidden for a long time. The city manages to harness the power of the Source to run, however as you may expect, this is a foolish idea that causes it to suffer from severely infected erosion. There are many questions surrounding this strange place, and the call of mystery can prove hard to resist.
In order to create a perfect theme song for this newest season, NetEase turned to veteran composer Akira Yamaoka, best known for his work on the hit horror series Silent Hill. Mr Yamaoka is said to have been impressed with how the story develops in Season 5 and found inspiration for the music in how the setting of power and threat comes from the same source. NetEase has released a special interview with Mr Tamaoka on the LifeAfter Youtube Channel.
