“MASTERPIECE! Inside is a 2D puzzle platformer that builds upon what made Limbo great, and in fact builds something greater.”
10/10 – IGN

“Inside expands on the concepts and scope of its predecessor in wildly creative ways, and it's so immaculately designed and constructed from top to bottom that it almost feels suitable for display in an art museum. This is one hell of a follow-up.”
5/5 – Giant Bomb

“Gorgeous art and animations, devious puzzle design and a pitch-black sense of humor. A perfectly paced series of escalating "holy shit" moments.”

Great game, BUT....

This is a great game, the graphics are beautiful, there's some heart-pounding moments, and decent puzzles. There's also an interesting story in the game, one that will leave you with 4,000 questions by the time you finish it.
BUT I do have a couple complaints. For one, the ending is kind of unsatisfying, and remember how I said the game leaves so many questions? Well, none of them are answered.
Finally, this game is incredibley short. For $20 this should take at LEAST a week or so to beat. But I finished it in 2 days.
Nonetheless, this is an awesome game. I definatley understand why it has so many awards. Highly reccomend! Great job, Playdead!

Tension, release, repeat.

Gameplay: 8/10
Tension, release, repeat.
Action packed, high paced gamplay juxtaposed to a dark/gloomy atmosphere brings for delightful experience. 6 million ways to die, choose one.

Story: 10/10
No need for a prologue, or any dialogue for that matter. The narrative & plot are perfectly executed using only images. Every obstacle reveals a little bit more of the story. Eventually unravelling itself to be a Black Mirror-esque critique on capatalist realism. Making the last 20% of the game truly satisfiying.

Controls: 10/10
Minimal, efficient.

Emotion: 10/10
Haunting, dark, and at times quite humourous.

Design: 10/10
The design & aestheic alone justifies the price. All of the underwater sequences are truly breathtaking, as in, I found myself literally holding my breath on numerous occasions. Game physics & mechanics are on point, a major part of the gameplay experience.

Difficulty: 8/10
Fairly easy game to get through, 4-5 hours, although some puzzles can be quite time consuming.

Audio: 10/10
Ominous industrial drones devour evil robotic chicks. The groans of a 1000 subhuman entities fill cavernous spaces. Plunge down into the depths of near silence to find yourself dodging meat pulverising subsonic blasts. In otherwords, put on some good headphones because the audio is a MAJOR part of this experience.

What more can I say?

Not a Fan

After completing the game, I am sorry to say that I am not a fan. All the rave reviews set the bar high, but I am missing the point of all the hype. To start, I was a bit dismayed to find that it is essentially a side-scrolling game. I suppose I have spent too many hours in the world of Red Dead Redemption II, or Fallout 4. Once I adjusted to the limited movement, and view of the world around me,.the game play was interesting. Of all the puzzles impeding progress, there were a couple that made you scratch your head a bit. However, none of this makes up for the game just simply not making any sense. Once complete, you don't know amy more about what is going on, or what just happened. You don't win, overcome, survive, or achieve any great revelation. The game is just simply over, and you are sitting the thinking what did I just play?
