App Description

The IEEE Standards SI Metric Converter is based on the IEEE/ASTM American National Standard for Use of the International System of Units (SI): The Modern Metric System (IEEE/ASTM SI 10™). The International System of Units (abbreviated SI) is the basis for worldwide standardization of measurement units.

This application converts seven “base units”: length, mass, time, electric current, temperature, amount of substance, and luminous intensity, or combinations of these seven (called “derived units”). For example, the unit of speed can be expressed by the unit of length divided by the unit of time.

Calculations are expressed to a maximum of fifteen decimal points.
