Welcome to Aurora Hills!
Nestled deep within the Appalachian Mountains, Aurora Hills was known for its thriving industry and its picturesque landscape. Owing to the region's natural resources, Aurora Hills was looking to become one of the most prosperous towns in the state.
All is not how it seems, however. A series of disappearances of residents and tourists alike have plagued the region over the past few years, sparking a mass exodus from the small town. Now, in October 1981, the town is a shell of its former self. The prosperity that once blessed Aurora Hills has all but evaporated.
Working as a park ranger, you must investigate what's going on with these disappearances and answer questions that have tormented residents for years. Why has there been an increase in disappearances over the past 6 months? Why are there no traces of the people who went missing? Perhaps most importantly, who, or what, could be behind all of this? It's up to you to venture forth, deep into the national park, to uncover the mysteries of Aurora Hills...
Developed by the creators of Meridian 157, Aurora Hills: Chapter 1 is the first part in series of point and click puzzle adventure games. Based in the year 1981 in a small West Virginian community, Aurora Hills follows the journey of Ethan Hill, a park ranger tasked with investigating strange disappearances from the region. Explore the rolling hills of West Virginia, find clues of the whereabouts of the missing people and solve intriguing puzzles to uncover the mystery of Aurora Hills!

Incredible!!
We’ve been waiting for this game for more than a year, and we’re so excited it’s finally here! The artwork is gorgeous, the story had me from the first minute, and the puzzles are complex and interesting. Most other point and click puzzle games are so hard to navigate and have so many glitches that it’s not worth the effort, but Novasoft never disappoints, and it’s easy to get lost in the world without getting yanked out by glitches. Eagerly looking forward to the next installment!!
WV is sure a creepy state
I found the narrative here to be a bit more of a slow burn than the "Meridian 157" series. Nothing too shocking yet, and the puzzles retain the same flavor from the first earlier games, perhaps with a bit higher degree of difficulty.
The atmosphere certainly draws on remembrances of 90's-era movie thrillers with WV settings such as "Silence of the Lambs" and "Mothman Prophecies".
Overall, another casual puzzler type with high production values. Will the 2nd chapter be out later this year? Hope so.

Dear Keybordz, thank you for your review and the feedback! Glad to hear you have enjoyed it so far. I haven't seen the Mothman Prophecies, sounds interesting i will have to give it a try! We don't have a timeline for Chapter 2 yet, but it shouldn't take anywhere nearly as long as Chapter 1. We would like to release chapter 2 later this year however we cannot commit to any timeline as of right now.

Amazing
To start, the artwork is insane. The controls and mechanics are very easy to use. The story picks up very quickly and draws you in. The puzzles are not too difficult and all the items are easy to pick up. You could not ask for a better start to a series. I’m excited for the next chapter. Another great game from these developers. Well done!
