Love the game some minor issues
I ran into an issue on stage 2 where you don’t get any gold at the end of each run unless you watch an ad. The ad is suppose to double gold but only gives the base gold. Again if you don’t watch the ad then you get nothing… please fix.
I completed the game, so here are my thoughts
OVERALL:
4/5 This was a fun and distracting game to play! Without paying it took me around 36 hours to complete the game and max everything out.
ADVERTISEMENTS 3/5: They do have a lot of ways you can buy this or that for a few dollars here. You do have ample opportunities to also watch adds to gain a few perks as well, and finally they only have one pop up add at the end of every completed level. GAME PLAY: 5/5 Unlike other games this one is honest and what you see is what you get. There are nine bosses and once you defeat them all it just starts over with the first one again. SUGGESTIONS: One thing that is off is after fighting all the bosses you start over and there are extra money blocks in the arena where you fight the boss. Also the way you upgrade spells is not balanced very well and for me I only get air and earth spell upgrades and others only seldomly. Also you can not pre upgrade your wand past level 4 before battle, and in battle past level 10
Broken - except for ads
This game displays an astonishing level of greed. Beyond the standard Rolic “run” game, this student project demands ads for every conceivable option. At least they are sort of optional. Do 5 runs, or watch an ad for the same reward? Yeah. They aren’t optional if you can barely progress without them. Even worse, the game was not tested adequately. In every area, the slide left <—> right which is the foundation of the genre is extremely unstable. A small move in one direction sometimes throws you in the opposite direction, halfway across the screen. Getting dominant skills and watching every boost-granting ad is great - until your run goes into the crapper when the controls go wonky and you sideways suicide into a barrier. For shame. Does ANY developer test their application before release??? The final, unforgivable straw? The game interrupts with a “Please rate us” dialog, and lets the player give a star rating in game. I rated it a 1 star. Broken is broken. But - go figure - that 1 star rating wasn’t actually listed in App Store. That’s a great way to dodge low ratings - only turn in the good ones! I am offended as a former programmer. For shame.
