Description

Muziqi aims to be the pro music app for music owners.
A curated music library deserves an app that lets you explore, listen without disturbance, and gives the tools to deepen your listening experience.

A highlight of the current features:

* Add from anywhere. Import music from Apple Music (any DRM free songs), from your desktop via a browser, or the Files app.
* Fancy Visualizers. It's not Winamp yet, but we are just getting started!
* 10-band EQ. Tweak your sound.
* Statistic. See what & how you listen to your music.
* Waveforms. See what your music looks like.
* Bookmarks. Mark interesting points in your music.
* A→B looper. Mark and play segments. Great for learning music.
* Remember position. An album or playlist can remember where you left off. Indispensable for audio books or curated playlists.
* Sleep timer. Go to bed with your favorite audio book.

Good start, though room to improve

This is a pretty great start, and has a lot of features that are important to me, starting with the ability to both import music from the stock Music app, while also being able to load music downloaded from e.g. Safari, via the Files app. Editing metadata in-app is great, too.

That said, there’s still some room to improve. For example, the new ability to add album art to albums and/or songs sounds great, but, I can’t actually get it to work. There’s no error message, just, when I click “add”, select “local file”, and then pick a jpeg, it closes the dialog but the art isn’t actually applied. Parts of the UI feel just a bit clunky, as well, though I’m not sure I could articulate why.

Anyway, all of that aside I’m still way happier with Muziqi than with the stock music app, so far. The simple act of being able to just download music and add it without hooking up your device to a workstation is like a breath of fresh air.

Update: Version 1.91 has a fix for the cover art issues.

- The cover editor unfortunately has a bug as you mentioned 🤦🏼. Will be fixed in the next release out soon.
- The clunkiness is indeed something I am trying to address by refining the UI over time.
