So-so
This game has sort of an off brand animal crossing vibe but it’s really failing to pull me in so far. The story is cute but I’m having a hard time staying engaged. I’ve been stuck on a mission that requires pebbles (they appear randomly on the beach) for two days and I just don’t know if I care enough to continue.
If you are looking for a game like the original neopets, this ain’t it. It’s more of a story telling game with a little bit of customization tossed in there. It has the potential to be a fun little mobile game but it for sure needs some work with pacing and the rarity of basic materials needed to continue the story.
Stuck on a quest and can’t continue
I was extremely excited to play Neopets, but sadly this isn’t truly like the computer version. I wanted mini games and tons of pets to collect.
You can collect pets and build a little community but at a SLOW pace.
I am also stuck on a quest and cannot continue. I have to build flower paths, but can’t without dirt patches which I don’t have the recipe for. And I have no other quests, so basically I am stuck in limbo on the game.
The game has high potential but the lack of true gameplay has me left bored and uninterested.
PS this review comes from someone who LOVED the Neopets fairy mobile game and the original computer Neopets game play.
Can’t progress
Resources in the very beginning of the game are poorly distributed, leaving players stuck on quests and hoping to randomly come across the required resources. I find many more “rare” resources from washed-up debris than I do basic materials. I have been cleaning up debris for over a full day, and have yet to see 1 pebble to continue my quest. This painfully slow progression unfortunately feels like a huge oversight on the dev’s part. Where was the test run for this?? This will quickly lead to players becoming bored, frustrated, and uninterested to continue playing. Not to mention the lack of content upon release…
