2023 FIRS Conference

The Seventeenth Conference of the Financial Intermediation Research Society (FIRS)


After sixteen successful conferences (Capri 2004, Shanghai 2006, Anchorage 2008, Prague 2009, Florence 2010, Sydney 2011, Minneapolis 2012, Dubrovnik 2013, Québec City 2014, Reykjavik, 2015 Portugal 2016, Hong Kong, 2017, Barcelona, 2018, Savannah, 2019, online, 2021, Budapest, 2022), FIRS will be holding its next conference in Vancouver, Canada, on June 2-4, 2023.


The conference will begin in the afternoon of Friday, June 2, and it will conclude late in the afternoon on Sunday, June 4. The keynote address will be given by Douglas W. Diamond, the Merton H. Miller Distinguished Service Professor of Finance at Chicago Booth and winner of the 2022 Nobel Prize in Economics. The conference venue is the Hyatt Regency Vancouver. Located at the heart of Vancouver, the hotel is the ideal starting point to explore everything this dynamic city offers, including its unique shops, harbor, Canada Place, and Stanley Park. It is about 10 miles from the Vancouver Airport (YVR). A conference dinner will take place in the evening of Saturday, June 3, at the Peak Chalet on Grouse Mountain, where one can enjoy majestic views of the city and surrounding area.
