The Perilous Pit is a part of the Auracle line from Auryn. The app is based on Orel Odinov Protopopescu’s book by the same name illustrated by Jacqueline Chwast.
No, this rollicking yarn is not about a dangerous hole in the ground--it concerns the carelessly discarded remains of a peach. When Katie flings away a peach pit, she sets off a momentous chain of events, 'for the pit hit a cat / who ran into the street / and made a car bump / into a fireplug.' As fire engines approach and water gushes from the hydrant, 'daredevil Danny' the skateboarder surfs through the town and out to sea.

Key features include:
★ Personalisation of voice and text:
- Kids can become their own narrator or listen to their parents narrate the book.
- Interactivity allows kids to personalize the sentence, create new action words and sharpen their vocabulary skills
Features on each page:
★ Image and word association vocabulary builder - when an image is touched the associated word is spoken and the written word displayed.
★ Karaoke effect - when a word is spoken during narration then the word is highlighted.
★ Touch a word to hear it being spoken.
Three ways to read the book.
★ "Read to me" — Listen to the narrated story with words highlighted as they are read
★ "Read Myself" — Read the book in its traditional form
★ "Auto Play" — Pages advances automatically once the narration is finished. Useful for those long car rides when you want the child to have a complete book experience.
The lite version contains the first six pages of the original app with all the functionalities. The user also gets an overview of rest of the pages in thumbnail format.
