This app is a simple to use, concise calculator of the NIOSH Lifting Index.
This app is designed for trained, Qualified Safety Professionals. It presumes prior professional training in the use and application of the NIOSH Lifting Equation.
This app condenses 43 pages of equations and descriptions into one, easy to understand, and easy to use screen.
This app is for a single, two handed lifting task.
Every lifting task involves moving an object from one place(Start) to another(Finish). This equation analyzes both positions and computes the Lift Index for the most stressful position.
This app is based the "Applications Manual for the Revised NIOSH Lifting Equation;" U.S. Department of Health and Human Services; Jan. 1994.
