Revita 9+

This game has such an amazing sense of completeness. You can tell there was a ton of time and heart poured into Revita!

Using your health as the main form of currency driving the risk vs. reward syste is such a fresh idea. Super fun trying new relic combos and seeing if you can find strange synergies in each run!

The art style, animations, and music are beautiful and compliment the gameplay perfectly. 10/10

Okay, full disclosure here, this isn't my first experience with Revita. I purchased this game on Steam for my Windows computer a little over a year ago because Im obsessed with roguelite games and this one caught my eye. My oh my was I not prepared for the journey I was about to experience.

FIrst thing to be aware of, especially for those who do not regularly play roguelikes, is that this game is HARD. There is no in-run currency; all the things you can buy to make things easier costs health. This means that every last decision, whether its buying from a shop or even opening a chest, comes down to how good you think you are. This level of risk and reward is intense and almost scary at first.
I had this game in my library for months before I really got into it because I got smacked around so badly on my first few attempts that I would just rage quit. Yet, the game stayed in the back of my mind based purely on the characters, the artstyle, the ferocity of combat, and the adorable main charactrer. So I kept revisiting Revita and every time I did, I got a little better. Not only did I get better, but the extremely dedicated dev team also kept pushing out more and more updates loaded with awesome new powers and synergies, items and characters, and even entire gameplay reworks.
Now I play Revita almost every day. I have over 1000 games on my computer and Revita is in the top 5, no questions asked. There is so much passion, creativity, ingenuity and pure love oozing out of every inch of this game and the longer you play, the more you get to appreciate what a gift Revita truly is to the gaming community.

I love Revita. If you try it and find it too tough, I promise that you just need to keep at it. You start unlocking things around your third run through the game and from that point forward, it blossoms like a flower in Spring. I am so, so happy that this has come out for Mac and fingers crossed for all iOS devices one day because I will keep buying it every chance that I have.
