Description

Domino detection using the camera makes scoring quick and easy.

MR. PiPS will help to count points and score domino games. Just take a photo of your remaining dominos on a contrasting background and MR.PiPS will count the pips and display a breakdown of your score. Mr. PiPS includes several settings to improve accuracy of the count under different lighting situations. Scorecards can be set up to keep score for all players in a game, whether using the app or not. Mr. PiPs can find other players using the app at your gaming table, so each player can keep score on their own device and everyone gets updated.

For best results use a contrasting background to the base domino color. Wood or dark tables work best for white dominos, and white or light backgrounds are needed for black dominos. A paper towel works well for black dominoes if your gaming surface is problematic.

“TRY AGAIN”

Says try again too many times before working. This really comes in handy when certain people get a bit too inebriated but still want to play the dominoes games we play. Hoping the app gets updated with better accuracy.

Developer Response ,

Try version 2 update and see what you think.

Simple and Works!

A little finicky… but works well. Just make sure there’s good contrast between your dominos and the surface they’re on when you take the photo. Wasn’t working very well with white dominos on a white table. Placed the dominos on a black surface and works perfectly. Just space the dominos out a little.

Impossible to get good scan!

The app camera scan area is too small and not sensitive enough to get a good count! Impossible to scan more than three dominos and even successfully scans take many many attempts. Truly wish there was an easy way to get a refund.

Developer Response ,

Sorry that you had a bad experience. Arrange the dominos in a grid with 3 - 4 dominos across and 3-4 dominos down before you take the photo. Make sure there is some space between them, and that the background (table) is not the same color as the domino base color. One should get a good count of up to 9-12 dominos per photo in most lighting conditions. Also, make sure the domino color preference is set to the correct domino type.
