What's the Xmp file? Do you export photos with IPTC as XMP file in Mac Photos application? The XMP file contains the photo metadata from the corresponding photo.

Xmp Editor is an application to view, edit, write the metadata tags in the XMP file, it can write XMP metadata to corresponding photos in batches.

Does Exactly What You Expect

I had 11,000 photos with separate XMP data that needed to be merged for upload onto another service. Needless to say, doing that manually was not an option.

I was able to batch-process every single photo with this app. It works great.

Keep in mind, you cannot really use your Mac while this is running. It seems to be doing some sort of script similar to Automator where it's constantly clicking on files in Finder.
