program has improved since early 2000
very misleading on descripion for essentials. I understand that it comes with an estimator power tool but you are stuck with what the program chooses for materials materials. there isn't a framing ng option for essentials and there manual is very vague, outdated, or not specific to essentials.

how sad this program is. DO NOT WASTE A DIME ON THIS CRAP!! Every version from basic to architectural & pro series on both Windows & Mac platforms are a joke. The thousands of custom materials (tile, finishes, etc..) & workshop items (furniture, decor, fixtures, etc...) is more like a few hundred at best & they are generic and completely outdated w/ zero style to them. Materials library has not been updated since the very 1st time I used this program roughly 15 years ago. Compared to the windows version 18 they have actually removed several furniture and decor items. If you have ever had a previous version and are thinking upgrading to a newer version will give you more current materials or furnishings or electrical items, generic or real world, dont bother because it doesnt.
LET ME STATE THIS CLEARLY..... NO PROFESSIONAL WOULD EVER USE THIS PROGRAM AND IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM WOULD YOU EVER BE ABLE TO CREATE DRAWINGS TO PULL ACTUAL BUILDING PERMITS!!
How they can say that they are used by professionals & that you can create construction drawings is 100% false advertising.
There are websites that offer superior 3D rendering, real world materials, and a vast selection of real world furnishings that are from this decade along with interfaces that are just as easy to use as this one AND THEY DONT CHARGE YOU A DIME!!!
LOOK FOR THOSE AND DO NOT WASTE ONE RED CENT ON THIS JUNK!!!
